Sculpture for the Artist, Recycled Thoughts came about after an incident in our studios that forced us to leave the building for about two weeks. Without materials and infrastructure, I turned into a material that is affordable, accessible, and convenient. Transparencies intrigue me as well as layering, and I found in recycled plastic an option to plexiglass. This sculpture asks me to look within. To close my eyes and let the thoughts come as they wish. Usually, the negative thoughts are the ones that repeat themselves. How can I recycle them and transform them into something productive?
